Pay Rate (pre-tax): $120,000- $150,000
Active, senior couple in Bryan, Texas is seeking a live-in (optional, but preferred) Household Manager to oversee the general operation of the estate home.
Duties will include:
- Overseeing and training two full-time housekeepers in their daily duties
- Managing the household’s calendars for family’s personal and professional needs
- Table is set every evening and candidate would help serve the meal family-style and help clear everything (HK does the cleaning); meal planning/cooking on occasion
- Scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing home maintenance and repair work, along with any other outside vendors/contractors
- Event planning, organizing, and coordinating (typically small); assist in coordinating and serving at formal dinner parties
- Assist with travel arrangements
- Occasional travel with the family to assist in the operation of out-of-state residences; as-need coordinating with the Caretakers in those homes;
- Candidate will go to New York home to hire, train and insure staff is ready for their arrival; need to be able to formally train staff in service both in housekeeping and dinner/wine service and ensure house management manuals are up to date and operational
- Shopping for food, supplies and other requested items
- Running errands
- Creating/reviewing of manuals necessary for house management for staff
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate must have:
- Strong moral character, integrity, and be respectful of privacy and confidential matters
- An authentic and service-minded attitude
- Managerial experience, preferably in a highly professional and hospitality environment
- Good knowledge of cleaning methods and the proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Experience with floral arrangements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A kind demeanor
Candidate must be:
- Mature
- Organized
- Seeking a long term position (out going Household Manager was with them for 10 years)
- Self-motivated
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and tech savvy
- Trained in professional social etiquette and formal dining service as this position deals with esteemed, distinguished and executive level professionals
- Willing to travel for annual extended stay in New York end of June through first of September
- Able to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
- A dog lover – the couple has a small, 11-year-old Toy Poodle who is their top priority, and has never been left alone (has a sitter when they’re out or traveling to a destination other than one of their homes)
- COVID vaccinated
The live-in accommodations are attached to the home but have a separate living room, kitchen, and two bedrooms with its own entry door.
