Short-Term Part-Time Nanny/Educator in Cedar Park
Benefits: 3 days of vacation (will increase and add paid holidays if the position extends long-term)
Family is looking for a patient, engaging Nanny/Educator for their son. The position is short-term through the school year, but could likely extend into the summer. Child has a genetic diagnosis of Fragile X Syndrome, for which specific training will be provided. Candidate will arrive in the am, help get the child ready for school, bring him for in-person instruction 7:45am – 8:45am, and then work with him at home to enable his Virtual Empowered Learning activities that supplement his learning from 9:00am – 11:00am. There are no lesson plans or preparation required as the learning is fully facilitated, supported, and supervised by a teacher. An education degree, teaching or therapy experience, or related is a plus, but not required. Strict observation of the CDC’s COVID-19 guidelines is imperative, and a vaccinated or antibody-positive candidate is preferred, as the child has an immune deficiency. Candidate will need to be willing to get the vaccine as it becomes available. The ideal candidate will be loving, reliable/punctual, education-minded, and communicative. The family has two mostly indoor, friendly small-ish dogs (puggle and an English Bulldog), and both parents work full time from home (for the foreseeable future).
NOTE: Candidates must be following all procedures advised by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for Coronavirus exposure prevention outside of their work hours (masks, hand washing, limiting contact/group sizes, social distancing, etc.). Initial interviews will be conducted virtually using Facetime, Zoom, etc.
