Family in Tarrytown is looking for an active and mature nanny to care for their two children. The care will be for the pre-k child (expected to return to school 4 mornings/week), and the older child is expected to move to on-campus learning shortly as well. Nanny will provide all day care on Mondays, and will transport both children from school each afternoon (separate times and location; excellent driving record is required). A typical day will begin with picking up the younger child and engaging him in indoor and outdoor activities such as the park/playground, games, walks, activities, crafts, toys, etc. When he naps, nanny will pick up the older child (Dad will be working from home), and will then engage him in age-appropriate activities as well. The ideal nanny will be very outdoorsy, have a ton of energy, truly connect with the boys, and be an excellent communicator. Nanny needs to be able to use positive discipline and correction methods to maintain order, and to keep the feisty boys from pushing beyond the established boundaries, structure and rules. The household tasks will include errands (prior to picking up the children), children’s laundry, light tidying, and light meal prep assistance. One caveat is that if both boys are switched to online school, nanny duties would be redirected to primarily assist with the first-grader, and a schedule change may be requested. The family is seeking a great fit with their family, and is willing to be a bit flexible on the hours, as long as they have coverage for the full day Monday and Tuesday – Friday 1:00 – 5:00pm – please let us know if there is a particular request. The family has a senior dog, but the nanny will have no duties related to the pet. Mom works out of the home, and Dad works from home.
NOTE: Candidates must be following all procedures advised by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for Coronavirus exposure prevention outside of their work hours (masks, hand washing, limiting contact/group sizes, social distancing, etc.). Initial interviews will be conducted virtually using Facetime, Zoom, etc.
