“We are an easygoing family of 5 living in West U: mom, dad, 2 boys (3 and 6) and a doggie. Mom works as a screenwriter from home; dad works as a management consultant, and travels regularly for work. The eldest goes to elementary school, and the youngest to a pre-school. Our lives are busy, but happy and fulfilling. We treat everyone who helps us with care and respect, and as part of our family. We look forward to getting to know you.”

Family in West U is seeking an education-minded Nanny Manager who will also keep the household running smoothly. Duties will include:

  • The day will begin with tidying up, doing the children’s laundry, loading/unloading dishwasher, organizational projects, occasionally running errands such as grocery pick up, post office, etc. (the family has a housekeeper once/week for deep cleaning)
  • When the three-year-old wakes up from his nap around 4:30, Nanny will work with him on developing play skills and speech (he has slight developmental delays that they are working on – they are following a set of exercises); there will be some play/interaction with the six-year-old as well
  • Mom and/or Dad will make dinner (nanny is welcome to eat with the family or bring her own food)
  • Nanny will walk the dog once/day (either before dinner accompanied by the younger child, or while the children are at dinner) and provide fresh food/water (the family has an 11-year-old mix between a golden retriever and a vizsla)
  • Nanny will work with the kids to do their part of cleaning up dinner and play areas, then will send them upstairs with their parents for the bedtime routine while the nanny finishes up cleaning up dinner and loads the dishwasher
  • Nanny will occasionally be asked to cook simple food (oatmeal, eggs, etc) for the children, but most food is prepared by the parents.

Nanny should be:

  • Friendly and personable
  • Loving and nurturing
  • Invested in the growth and development of the children
  • Proactive, with a can-do attitude
  • Mutually respectful
  • Very comfortable with dogs (since walks will be a part of the daily tasks)
  • COVID vaccinated and boosted
  • Wearing a mask when with the children (until further notice)
  • Bonus: any learning/development/therapy experience
  • Bonus: availability for a few weekend evenings/days per month
  • Bonus: availability to occasionally travel with the family (with a passport)

Both parents work, with Dad working from home and traveling, and Mom working mostly from home. There are cameras in the home.
