Family in the Gold Coast is seeking a flexible, educationally-minded, Live-in Nanny for their two children. As a safety measure, the older child is no longer attending pre-school, so in an ideal world, the nanny will spend from 9:00am – 1:00pm doing educational activities for the pre-schooler and several of his classmates (Nanny would be compensated extra for these hours). This will include indoor and outdoor activities that encourage their development such as reading, drawing/painting/crafts, learning concepts (colors, textures, numbers, shapes, etc.), singing/dancing, and motor skill development. Pre-school experience is a plus. Candidate will also nurture the children’s behavioral and emotional development by making sure they feel cared for and safe, stimulated and nurtured, and have lovingly-enforced boundaries. The ideal candidate will be smart, creative, kind/loving, and proactive. Nanny will also prepare meals and snacks for the children, and keep children and common areas tidy. Second languages are a plus (French or Spanish in particular), and nanny must be able to swim.
Nanny will have a separate apartment, and will accompany the family between their downtown home and their suburban family home (River Woods), which also has a nanny apartment. Nanny will regularly transport children in family vehicle (excellent driving record required), but there is not a parking space for a personal vehicle for the nanny. Two days/week may be covered by an existing family babysitter. Dad works full-time and Mom does not work outside the home. In the future (post-COVID concerns), Nanny will travel with the family on several domestic trips per summer, with the potential of international travel (must have passport or be willing/able to obtain).
NOTE: Candidates must be following strict procedures advised by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for Coronavirus exposure prevention (masks, hand washing, limiting contact/group sizes, social distancing, etc.), as one of the family members is in a higher risk category. Initial interviews will be conducted virtually using Facetime, Zoom, etc.
