Nurturing, kind and energetic long-term nanny needed for active toddler as mom looks to return to the workforce. Nanny will engage the child in indoor and outdoor age-appropriate play and activities, partner with parents to encourage achievement of developmental milestones, and practice patient, loving discipline and redirection methods. Nanny will transport child to/from activities, which may include pre-school, classes, playground, library, museum, neighborhood pool, etc., so an excellent driving record and reliable transportation are required. The nanny will be extremely safety conscious while encouraging the toddler’s sense of adventure and exploration. Indoor activities may include reading stories, singing songs, playing games, arts/crafts, nap time, etc. Nanny will also work on potty training. Townhome has four stories, so candidates will need to be comfortable managing several flights of stairs. Nanny will also cover meal preparation, supervision and clean up (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner), and will need to accommodate the child’s serious food allergies (egg, tree nut, sesame). Parents will provide training as to how you will ensure an allergy-safe environment, recognize the signs of an allergic reaction, and how to administer emergency care as needed, but it would be a plus if the nanny has related experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years experience (with toddler/preschool age experience specifically), be an excellent communicator, and have a cheerful personality. Both parents will be working outside the home.
The ideal nanny will have at least an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Psychology, or a similar field. Family is willing to consider candidates without this education background if they have a significant amount of experience with toddlers and are a good fit otherwise.
